Moving Communities, One Child At a Time

 

Alina Amir is the spearheader of Blok A, a community-based project which provides the space for peer tutoring, leadership development and remedial help for students of Flat Taman Sri Janggus.

 

A keen believer of the importance of education, Alina believes in the accountability for one’s own learning and the learning of his/her community and the need to take up the responsibility of educating oneself and the people around them.

 

Alina’s dream is to “one day see [students] independent, not only wanting, willing and trying to find ways to help themselves but also the community they live in.”
